		<description>Thanks for this forgotten bit of history. I read an article on confederate &quot;heroes&quot; which mentioned General Longstreet, which brought me to this massacre. Louisiana was certainly a mess in the 1870&#039;s. I had no idea. The history books offer a brief oversight of what happened. I&#039;m guessing the Texas history books will end up offering a much briefer oversight.</description>
