Justices Weigh Enhanced Fees in Civil-Rights Cases
Joining briefs supporting the bonus fees are several groups that are often behind lawsuits against school districts, including the American Civil Liberties Union and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund on the left, and the Alliance Defense Fund and the American Center for Law and Justice on the right.

Firefighter Test Brings New Haven a Fresh Suit
The city of New Haven, which the United States Supreme Court found this year to have discriminated against a group of mostly white firefighters, was hit with another federal lawsuit on Thursday, this time from a black firefighter who contends that the way the city scored a 2003 promotion test will keep him from getting the position he deserves.
