Poll# 16

Is This Racist?

An Associated Press story reported that, “First lady Michelle Obama chose to wear a gleaming silver-sequined, flesh-colored gown Tuesday night to the first state dinner held by her husband's administration.” Whose flesh color was the writer referring to—certainly not the First Lady’s or millions of others around the world.

  1. This is stupid. You’re being paranoid. The world is not out to get you.

  2. @gxrbeet – the world may not be out to get us, but it isn’t out to recognize us either. Sorry, there are more women of color in the world than not. “Flesh-colored” is not how I would have described that gown. It is more a beautiful golden tan with silver strands. I actually don’t know anyone whose “flesh” is the color of that gown, given the silver threads.

  3. Where is the racial question?

  4. Oh computer slow to load.
    How could 7% say yes?

  5. Certainly not an accurate description, but racist absolutely not! Don’t believe the hype…lets stay focus people.
