Is This Racist?
KFC: We Do Racism Right
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), whose slogan, “We do chicken right,” was part of an ad campaign to appeal to African Americans, is under fire for an Australian ad, titled a “Cricket Survival Guide,” shows a white guy uncomfortable at being surrounded by dancing black West Indians at a cricket game. His solution for that “awkward” situation? To hold up a bucket of KFC to placate the “natives.” When the ad was criticized as racist, KFC Australia execs said that while the ad could be perceived as racist, that perception came from the US. And that they went ahead with it because the people who were offended “weren’t supposed to see the ad.”

i think it’s not cuz it seems like they are being loud, and partying o he calmed them down with a buckket of KFC!
This is ridiculous!!!!! Racist imagery is so rampant that this might SEEM subtle, but it’s so offensive. These people are hanging out at a game, showing spirit. When you see White people at these games they are usually drunk to the point of vomiting and fighting…..this guy was “uncomfortable” cause he was the only white guy there…even though no one was paying attention to him….was it that he needed attention and wasn’t getting any? Why did he need to please the crowd? People were doing fine before he busted out his KFC~
Not everything in this world that distinguishes black people from white people is racist. I am honestly TIRED of hearing “Oh that’s racist”. For example, when Obama was drawn to look like a monkey. The SAME EXACT THING was done to George Bush. And, honestly, all of the black community that decided to vote this year, that isn’t considered racist? The black community just HAPPENS to vote when a black man runs for presidency? Even though he had NO experience. I am not saying McCain was good for the job either, I personally think we haven’t had a good election in a VERY long time. But the fact is that Obama is now in because of his skin color, which is racist in itself.
What gets me is how predictably the racists always commence to explain why something racist isn’t racist and then give examples of whites saying things about other whites. And then, like clockwork, they turn things around and start giving examples of blacks doing, well, literally anything and then call that racist. What is that called in argumentation: fallacy? fallacious thinking? nut-jobs? what is it called in the Bible? Evil.
Racism is alive and well in america. Dont fool youself it hide itself in many forms. Many govenment agencies that promote ” We do not discriminate aganist race color or creed” is one of the biggest proponets of racial discrimanation ie; San bernardino County Special District Water Sanitation Division just to name a few. http://www.specialdistricts.org
Dee, yes racism is alive. The problem is that every race has racists, but they wear blinders when it comes to their own. Of course that ad is rascist! Then again so is your comment. Im a Native American, call me Indian if you want, who cares, the fact is we are all prejudiced towards our own.
