This is one of the more refreshing Tales of the Who Dat Nation I have read. What is coincidental is I have discussed where Who Dat came from and I am convinced the credit goes to the English R&B group Heatwave. In the late 70's they had a recording that shouted Who Dat, who dat, who dat trinna be bad.... and it was actually atributed that a Louisiana High School was the first to use that chant, so someone from that highschool had to have adapted it into a cheer. It is totally unlikely that this was madeup locally and if you have heard the group Heatwave originality is there make-up. Football wise, at the beginning of the season in my comment to the coach on WWL's website I made the observation, because of the talent the Saints had in training camp that if they did not go to the Super Bowl this year they probably never will. Their biggest problem in pre-season was who dat they were going to cut. When the big game time came I called the WWL hotline and predicted a 31-24 win for the Saints. Oh ya, I hade also told friends and family in the pre season my picks for the Super Bowl was the Saints and the Colts. Go figure! This is from someone who is a Giants fan 1st, because being from Mass. they were the 1st team I watched as a kid on TV, then the Patroits because I did not live far from Boston and they were the 1st pro team that I had gone to their games, and then adopted the Saints when I move to New Orleans in 1981 so I am kind of proud to have 3 home teams that have won the Super Bowl. Now there are not many people who can say that, but I am looking forward to the Saints winnig one or two more in the next two years. Garonteed!

I've always rooted for the underdog, I'm not sure if that will ever change. First, I would like to commend Mr. Lassiter on this timely piece. Second, my hat goes off to any man who can take responsibility of a 9 month old baby girl/or boy for that matter and relocate to an area so unfamiliar. Third, BIG PROPS and much respect goes to Buddy-D and the men who stood up to honor him by wearing dresses and high heels; Being a Director of Stage Plays I know how difficult it is to teach men how to dress in drag and walk in high heels. In my opinion, The New Orleans Saints have overcome so much in their franchise history that I wouldn't consider going with another team; Unless it was the Falcons playing, only because I'm a very loyal person. This write up is truly a fine piece of art Mr. Lassiter. I've been writing for 23 years, so I can recognize a true genius in this field. Thanks for giving me insight on the Saints.
