To Mr. Ward:

A part of your statement is exactly what the article is talking about. You talk about the legal genocide of Black children, what about the legal genocide of Black women. It seems you are not interested about that. What are the legality of the murder, rape, and assaults against Black, female bodies which are occuring every day in the community? What about that? That is genocide, but it is evident that a lot of people don't give a damn about that. So what, Black women's bodies are just used as vectors to produce Black children, (and expand the community for Black men to continue to dominate) and if Black women are dying, oh well? It is that type of Black patriarchy that angers me. My life is valuable and I am a being too!

Thank you for this excellent and very timely interview. Let's talk about this issue and support the work of SisterSong. I'm a Black man who supports reproductive rights - including abortion rights. And 30 years ago, I supported a girlfriend - a Black woman - when she decided to have an abortion. It was the right thing for both of us and thankfully she could get a safe and legal abortion without the interference of outside forces who presumed they knew better than she did.

The target of the black family by abortion groups has its roots steeped in the mission statement of Planned Paerent Hood. Let us not forget that Planned Parent Hood was founded on the principles of controling the birth rate in our community. Nor the fact that our own churches participated with Planned Parenthood in their mission to committ the legal genocide of our children.
